Writing Workshops

NOTE: All writing workshops have been moved online until further notice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Register for your first writing workshop here: bit.ly/rootslamworkshop. In addition to our performance-focused events, we host a FREE writing workshop located at Chapter 510 in Oakland (2301 Telegraph Ave, Oakland).

Join us every 2nd & 4th Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm. We know it's early, but set your alarm, come through, and begin exercising your pen game with a group of folks who may share the same passion for poetry. No experience necessary. Just bring something you feel comfortable writing with (pen, pencil, notepad, laptop, etc), and we got the rest!

At the end of each writing workshop we will also facilitate a “No-Mic”, which is just an intimate space where you can  share first drafts from our time together as well as any new shit you have been working on outside of the workshop.
